Overview |

The St. Charles Fire Department has adjusted its
training program to meet the training needs of the industry. Under
the direction of Chief Rhodes, Training Captain Robb Watkins has
focused the training program on several key areas to improve not
only compliance, but operational readiness and firefighter safety.

Dive Rescue Training
|
Our improved training program works to:
-
Improve fire suppression training-hands on training
-
Use the Training Division and the class schedule as a
tool to impact firefighter safety

Work with Deputy Chief Daly to develop departmental SOG’s and the associated training to support the SOG’s

Ensure governmental and industry standards compliance

Training and proficiency
-
Work with EMS Captain Allen to expand and
internalize, where possible, EMS training
-
Use training and the Department’s guiding mission
statement to create one fire department.
Most training for the department has been moved in
house. Select members are being sent to train the trainer courses so
that they may come back and teach the rest of our members. This method
saves the department a tremendous amount of money every year.
