Bicycle Safety
and Helmet Program
The St. Charles Fire Department visits elementary schools
throughout the City every year to check for the proper fit of the
children’s bicycle helmets and talk to them about bicycle safety.
If a child is in need of a new helmet, they are able to purchase
one for just $5.00. This program is done in cooperation with St.
Joseph Health Center and Healthy Communities St. Charles County, a
non-profit
organization dedicated to improving the health and
quality of life in St. Charles County. |
 |
The Department is also available to speak to other
groups, such as scouts and day camps, about bicycle safety and the
importance of wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle, roller blading
or skateboarding. To schedule an appearance please call 949-3253.
