Explorer Program |
The St. Charles City Fire Department sponsors Fire
Explorer Post 9491. Explorer programs are under the umbrella of the
Boy Scouts of America Life Career Education program. The programs
provides a worksite based learning experience for young men and women
who have completed eighth grade and encompasses persons aged 14
through 21. |
 |
Our fire service explorer post allows young people to
have exposure to the fire service so that they may make an informed
decision concerning their career path. Through participation in the
Explorer program, individuals will gain personal confidence, learn to
use various tools, develop mechanical skills and aptitude, and gain a
greater awareness of personal and fire safety. They will also gain
leadership skills and group inter-dynamic skills. The post meets twice
monthly and offers a ride along program on the department’s fire
apparatus.
If you would like to join the fifteen young men and
women currently involved in post 9491, contact the Fire Chief’s office
at 636-949-3250.
