In June 2002, the
St. Charles Fire Department sent personnel to a forty-hour child
safety seat installation class. To date we have seven certified
installers spread amongst our three shifts. In 2004, they installed
267 car seats. At least two of the seats were subsequently involved in
motor vehicle crashes, neither child was injured and the seats did not
move.
