How do I request a fire inspection?
Request 24-48
hours in advance by calling 949-3253.
Is there any
cost associated with a fire inspection? No
cost for inspections.
Does the Fire
Department do residential construction inspections?
No.
How do I submit
commercial construction plans?
Plans are submitted when applying for a building permit with the
Office of City Development, City Dev. then forwards a copy to the Fire
Dept for review and approval.
What about
construction permit fees?
Construction permit fees are also included with the building permit
fees generated by City Dev. Fees are established by City Ordinance.
Current fire construction permit fees are set at $1.00 per $1,000.00
of estimated construction cost.
In addition to
Fire Construction Permits, what other fees or permit are required?
Additional fees and permits as required by City Ordinance. These
include but are not limited to: operational permits for special
occupancies as defined by the Fire Code, installation of any fire
protection systems, exhibits-trade shows-craftshows, commercial burn
permits, and storage of flammable/combustible liquids.
What
system testing does the Fire Department witness?
The Fire Dept shall witness all system testing. This is to include:
hydro tests, alarm and flow testing of fire protection systems, final
acceptance testing of alarm systems, and hood suppression system
discharge testing. On fire alarm systems, a Record of Completion (NFPA
72) is required to be submitted to the Fire Marshal.
