VOTER IDENTIFICATION
I didn't receive my Voter I.D. Card in the mail.
Do I still get to vote?
- The voter I.D. card or the notice of election card are
the preferred forms of identification because each contains
pertinent information regarding your polling place, political
sub-divisions/districts, and precinct, which is necessary
information to the judges at the polls. If you don't have
either card, any other signed I.D. will be accepted.
- If a voter doesn't have any signed I.D., their identity
may be verified by two polling judges, a relative voting
with them, or by calling the St. Charles County Election
Authority.
I've lost my Voter I.D. Card. How do I apply
for a new one?
Replacement Voter I.D. Cards may be requested by contacting
the Election Authority.
ELECTION DAY INFORMATION
How will I know when elections are being held
in my area?
One to two weeks before any given election, the Election
Authority Office will mail you a red and white "Notice
of Elections" card, giving the election date, your
polling place and other political information. You will
need to sign this card before entering the polling place
and presenting it to the election workers.
When do the polls open?
Your polling place will promptly open at 6 a.m. and close
at 7 p.m.
VOTER INFORMATION
What if someone changes his or her name?
This happens frequently because of marriage. If there
is a legal name change, notify the Election Office in writing
or in person at any of the registration sites. A person
may vote one time only under a previous name.
What if someone moves?
- Notify the Election Office of any change of address that
is within the county. This may be accomplished at any of
the registration sites or fill out the back of your Voter
I.D. Card or the "Notice of Election" Card and
mail it to the Election Office.
- The Election Office must receive your change of address
by the 4th Wednesday before an election. This ensures that
you will receive a notification of election and are properly
listed in the books at the polls. If you did not notify
the office of your address change, you will need to call
the office for the location of your new polling place.
Where can I register or transfer my voting address?
The different sites to register or to make a transfer
are:
- County Clerks Office Public Schools
- Community College Libraries
- Community College City Halls

providing Public assistance
