The Public Information Officer, Sergeant Donovan Kenton, is responsible for representing the Chief's Office and the Police Department on numerous community task forces, boards, committees along with civic and business organizations and groups as well with all public service, other law enforcement agencies, social service and emergency service agencies. The close working relationship allows those agencies and organizations to have direct contact with the department and the Office of the Chief. It is through these valuable relationships that a vital partnership has been formed as together we work toward the goal of improving our community.

The Public Information Officer is also directly responsible for providing information to the news media and the public. The department has a professional, cooperative working relationship with the media in the St. Louis metro area and also throughout the country for cooperating with efforts to gather factual, public information pertaining to department activities.

The Public Information Officer works in conjunction with the department's Neighborhood / Business Watch and other crime prevention programs.
