City of St. Charles Cable TV Access Channel is a 24 hour government
access channel programmed and operated by the City of St. Charles.
It is available to Charter Communications subscribers in St. Charles
City and eastern St. Charles County.
Programming is primarily produced by the city and its employees.
The Saint Charles Cable Television Commission provides
recommendations on operation of the Channel and development of
programming, content and guidelines. Local programs are produced to
inform the public of services and programs provided by local
government and others available in the Community. Programs air on
the channel twenty-four hours, seven days a week, 365 days per year.
As of May 13, 2008, the Saint Charles City Channel can be tuned:
-if you subscribe to cable service from Charter Communications and
your television or VCR incorporates a “digital cable QAM tuner” on
Channel 118-20 or 118.2 or 118.20. Most televisions sold in the U.S.
over the last 2-3 years have this capability built in.
Please refer to the instruction manual for your T.V. or VCR for
specific information on the process to use to set the tuner for your
device. This methodology requires that the cable line be connected
directly to the TV or VCR.
*To receive this channel the television tuning set-up/autotune or
other channel setting function for your specific T.V./VCR should be
set to “cable” (not “broadcast” or TV), then run the set function.
There may be an indication on the screen of number of analog and
digital channels set. After completion of set-up of the tuner, enter
118, then
– or . then 2 or 20; in some instances it may be necessary to enter
118, then use the“channel up” arrow key to poll through the 118
sub-channels.
- on Charter Communications Channel 990 with use of a set-top
converter box – available from Charter for $5.00 per month.
If you have questions, difficulties receiving the City Channel or
would like to have a Charter set-top converter, please contact Neal
Gilb, Charter Government Relations Manager, at (314) 543-6679.
Following are brief descriptions of the City Channel programs and
standard play times; all programs air at additional times depending
on the timeliness of the content. Typically, program premieres for
monthly and some other programs takes place on Friday at 5 PM.
Please check the program listings on the Channel for current
schedule listings. All program listings are subject to preemption or
